Tour De Fort - The Honest Heart Collective

Anchored by four lifelong friends, The Honest Heart Collective was born from
brothers Ryan and Nic MacDonald, a moment at a Springsteen concert, and
a rotating cast of musicians made permanent. Buoyed by the backdrop of
their Northern Ontario roots, the band embodies an old soul take of
heart-on-sleeves storytelling through music. Armed with the self-built Lionheart
Studios, a blue-collar mentality, and a new collection of songs, THHC
recorded their LP Grief Rights with producer Derek Hoffman.

Indoor Planetarium

The Science North Team will bring their portable indoor planetarium to the Library  : Under the Same Stars, Minwaadiziwin. Through this portable planetarium experience, visitors will learn about the Indigenous worldview.  They will leave the planetarium with an understanding of common constellations visible in the night sky and the Anishinaabe stories that define them.

Today marks the debut of my book dealing with two vastly contrasting forms of education that were prevalent in our area starting in 1930. Times were difficult during the Depression but determination brought the subjects of this book through these years of turmoil. Their stories impact our area to this day. It is a story of ups and downs. It covers all the emotions from happiness and joy to anguish and resolve. Most of the readers will be surprised to know that my story starts in Miscampbell Township.
