Alberton Summer Celebration

Come on out for a great time with the whole family!  Everyone is welcome to attend the Alberton Rec Committee's annual Alberton Summer Celebration.  This FREE event is sponsored by Ontario 150. 

Kids can enjoy a petting zoo, bouncy castles, face painting, fun and games. Adults and kids can dance to our live band 'The Phoenix Project', and enjoy food, drinks, and treats from a number of vendors, including the 'I am Awesome and I Know It' booth.  Hope to see you all there!

Terry Fox Run - Fort Frances

Come join us once again for the annual Terry Fox Run in Fort Frances! Celebrating over twenty years of the run being held in Fort Frances, last year we raised over $4,000 for innovative cancer research and we hope to have an even stronger showing this year!

Registration begins at 1 pm with the run starting at 2 pm. The race will follow the same route as last year, beginning at the Sorting Gap Marina and following the waterfront up to Point Park and back. We'll have food and draw prizes to follow, so make sure to bring your wallets and to work up an appetite!

Family Day at Dreamweaver Ranch

You are invited to spend a day with us at Dreamweaver Ranch on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10 am to noon.

Come join us on a tour to meet all the horses at the ranch. Watch out for Hollywood...he likes to sniff you! After that we will get to learn how to be safe around horses while we prepare to brush and groom them. Nikki loves to be brushed! Then we will saddle up and take turns riding while being assisted by one of our ranch volunteers.

Borderland Pride: Pumpkin Pride Social

Borderland Pride is the LGBTQA Pride organization serving the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario and Koochiching County in Northern Minnesota.

Join us on Thursday, October 26 between 7 and 10 PM at From the Grind Up for "Pumpkin Pride", our fall social mixer for LGBTQ and straight Ally members of the Borderland community.

There are no tickets or admission costs to this event, but attendees will need to purchase their own refreshments. Around 8:30 PM, we will provide those in attendance with a brief overview of our plans for the year ahead.

Borderland Pride Roundtable and Brainstorming Meeting

Community input sought for Borderland Pride

June is Pride month in Canada and the United States. Pride celebrates identities of LGBTQ2 individuals and recognizes the ongoing struggles of the LGBTQ2 community. 'LGBTQ2’ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and two-spirited. ‘A’ is sometimes added to the acronym to refer to straight ‘Allies’ of the LGBTQ2 community.

Lion's Legacy Golf Tournament

Borderland Pride Organizing Meeting

Borderland Pride hosted a community roundtable meeting in Fort Frances on July 12. It was well-attended and the organizers have decided to move forward by recruiting an organizing committee and crafting a plan to bring Pride to Borderland in 2018.

Individuals who are interested in being part of a planning committee or who have ideas for Pride-related events for our communities are welcome to attend this organizational meeting.
